The Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (Paragraph 17.7) state that by 31 December 2007, "raised taxi registration numbers must be placed on the exterior of passenger doors (of taxis) forward of the door handle".

The Standards do not state that Braille is a requirement on these signs, however VISUALISE™ do offer Braille as an optional extra.
